Until this morning, I hadn’t intended to include anything but my cooking experiments on this little blog of mine. Then my boss texted me to see if I was interested in a taco this morning (heck yeah, especially since it was nice and COLD out there and I’d need something to warm me up when I got to the office). I arrived in plenty of time for her to hand me a little brown paper bag that within its folds contained a still warm foil-wrapped goodie for me.
As I unwrapped the bag, I caught sight of the logo. Now, I didn’t squeal in my excitement but I did smile brightly. You see, she’d just handed me a taco from what is perhaps one of the best places in Austin to get tacos (IMHO) and it’s just right around the corner from our office. That’s when I said to myself, “Self? Who are we to be selfish and keep the secret of this yumminess? We should totally add great places to eat to our new blog!”
So, without further ado, I bring to you…

With three locations around town (North, Central and South), they’re definitely a local favorite and have specials every day to tempt your taste buds. Today’s options: Scallops Tacos and the roasted pork loin goodness of the Tacolomo. I was happily appeased this morning with a black refried beans and Monterrey Jack cheese taco that was all warm and gooey and marvelous. If you’re gluten-free, this is the place for you; they mark what’s not gluten-free instead of the other way around. They also get their ingredients from local and Texas farms & ranches, so they’re sustainable, too. So whether you’ve been an Austinite for years and are looking for a new place to try for breakfast, or perhaps you’re just visiting our fair city during SXSW and need to grab a bite for lunch, I’d highly recommend them. I might even see you there. ;)
