Navigating the Kitchen

How do I find a recipe?

1) If you know the date something was posted, you can shuffle through the Recipe Box (aka the blog’s archives) found in the right-hand sidebar.

2) If you’re looking for a particular type of recipe, say a main course or something sweet, try the Available Fair section (aka Categories), also on the right-hand sidebar. Both meal categories such as Main Dishes, Soups & Stews, etc. and cuisine-specific ones like Seafood will be marked.

3) If you are looking for recipes from a particular chef, these too will be found in the Available Fair section by either the chef’s name or by the cookbook in which the recipe was found.

How do I find recipes that use a particular ingredient?

Check the Ingredients section (aka Tags). Popular items such as types of meat, fruit and (of course) chocolate will be captured, as will unusual and/or uncommon ingredients (such as matzo meal or lemongrass). That way, if you cannot purchase only enough to just make the one recipe, you can more easily identify other recipes using the same ingredients.

Where do your links take me?

1) Other Locations ~ this is the other places that you can find the author online. Includes the standards such as Facebook and Twitter, but also includes other fun things to explore.

2) Fellow Chefs ~ these are links to my friends’ food blogs that you might find interesting. Yes, these are people I actually know, so please visit!

3) Go to Market ~ if you’re in the mood to shop, these links will provide plenty of hours of shopping nirvana. I don’t endorse or get any credits for including them; I just think they’re nifty.

4) The Competition ~ this list is links to my favorite chefs and websites that inspire me to cook. If a recipe from a celebrity chef is used, likely their link will be included here or at the minimum, on the recipe’s page.

My question isn’t here. What should I do?

Simply leave a comment and the author will reply with the answer or simply include it on this page. Merci, et bon appétit!
